OBJECT LESSONS

Object lessons are a wonderful way to teach the truth of God's Word. At times, even Christ himself used objects and materials that were known to the people at that times. Many of these appear in the parables of the Lord.
Matt 6:28
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Matt 18:1-2
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
Jesus actually used a little child as an object lesson on faith!
Many objects that can be used are found in everyday homes. You do not have to shop hard, but it is a good idea to keep your heart and mind open for things that can be used. Ask yourself the question, "how can this thing be used to teach a spiritual truth"? Almost anything can be tied into a scriptural lesson one way or another.
Use the object lessons not as the main teaching tool, but to reinforce the truth of the Word of God.
Allow the Holy Spirit of God to direct you and lead you into the message that He has for that particular moment.
