Discipline Problems

One of the biggest problems with Bus Ministries and Children's Church programs is trouble with the children.  Our society is filled with undisciplined children, and we must find a way to reach them.  I do not allow any children to disrupt what we are trying to accomplish.  Many times the problem can be solved quickly and quietly.  I always have more success by talking to the child one on one with kindness and love.  You will NOT  get very far by yelling and fussing all the time.  There is a time to be firm, but fair.

We have used a discipline report in our Sunday School, Bus Ministry, and K.I.D.S. Church.  This gives us leverage and a tool to reinforce our procedures.  The kids DO NOT want to be written up, and will usually fall in line.  We keep these on a clip board, hanging up in front of the bus.

After filling it out, tell the child that you love them, but you have warned then about the behavior, and that you expect them to change.  Speak to the parent on the Sunday you have the problem, if it is possible.
